Things to Remember

Footwear

We request every student has indoor shoes, which can be stored at the school for the duration of the program. We are very excited about the dance portion of the program!  If your child has ballet or jazz slippers, please send them along (and make sure they are labeled with your child’s name).  If they don’t have these shoes, bare feet or socks are fine.

Dress Code

Play clothes are essential to preschool. Please dress your child in comfortable clothes to play, paint, dance and explore in.  Students will not be changed into dancewear. While we encourage the use of paint and water shirts, sometimes children do get dirty! Please send an extra set of clothing as spills happen. All articles must be labeled with your child’s name.

Snack Time

Please provide a peanut free healthy snack. Some examples are apple or orange slices, gold fish crackers, crackers and cheese, pretzels, and/or water. While children will be encouraged to eat their snack, they will not be forced to eat if they choose not to.

Drop Off and Pick Up

It is much easier for the teachers if you say quick goodbyes and let them engage the children.  For many children separation anxiety is normal, but our teachers are experienced with young children and will quickly involve them in fun activities.  The longer you linger, the harder it is for the child.

Signing In and Out

You must sign your child in and out on the school clipboard every visit.  If you are not the adult picking up the child, you must let the teachers know who will be picking them up.  Students will only be released to parents unless arrangements are made in advance with the teachers.

Being on Time

It is very important that you are on time to pick up your child.  Children this age are very sensitive to having a parent there as soon as they are done.

Parent’s Handbook

The Play n’ Dance Parents Handbook summarizes the things you need to know about the Play n’ Dance program. We encourage you to download and read it prior to registering your child for the program.
